TROTAM
Relaxed essentials in handloom cotton and natural dyes. Indian craft, made for every day.
Manifesto
Clothing that rememberswhere it came from —made slowly, worn easily.
Every Trotam piece begins on a handloom, not a factory floor.
We colour with indigo, madder and marigold, the way it has been done for centuries.
Then we cut it for the way you actually live: relaxed, unfussy, made to last.
The fabric story
01 — The cloth
It begins with a single thread.
Long-staple cotton, spun and woven on handlooms, so every metre carries the rhythm of the hands that made it.
02 — Texture
Woven to hold the light.
An open, breathable weave with a soft irregularity no machine can copy. It moves with you and gets softer with every wash.
03 — The motif
Patterns with a past.
Drawn from temple borders, block-printed florals and the quiet geometry of Indian textiles, then redrawn with a lighter hand.
04 — The details
Made to be kept.
- Handloom cotton, pre-washed for a soft hand from day one
- Natural dyes: indigo, madder and marigold
- Flat-felled seams and coconut-shell buttons, finished by hand
05 — The garment
From loom to wardrobe.
Cut in small batches and finished by hand, each piece is made to be worn often and handed down.
06 — Trotam
Indian craft, worn every day.
Relaxed shirts, overshirts and trousers in handloom cotton, made for the way you actually live.
